Hotcha Zimzam 10: Google Sees All

In which I rant about how Google, TiVo, and James Cameron are conspiring to make Minority Report a reality:

Comments

  1. Justin says:

And just like those futuristic flicks, we’re hearing the apocalyptic warning from “random dude talking to the webcam.” (But in the movies, it’d be a rant. You’re actually level-headed.)

Once again, the crucial question is Can We Opt Out? Some of the kids these days like being plugged in all the time and find the pop-up advertising/data services convenient or reassuring. But we should reserve the right to walk away from that when we want.

  2. David says:

The free contact lenses will have sponsored ads that are based on what you see. The expensive ones will only show the metadata you want displayed. At least that’s how the Web works. And, of course, the ultimate opt-out will be to simply not wear the contact lenses.
