So I had this wonderful post all set up about seeing Al Gore at a screening of An Inconvenient Truth last week when a server switch condemned my work to the great big recycling bin in the sky. Several fruitless cache searches later, I’m left with a dim memory of what I wrote, and a strong desire not to try to find all those links again, so I’ll sum up:
1. The movie is good. Go see it when it comes out. Bring five friends. Why five? Because Al said “five,” and you don’t fuck with that.
2. Al Gore is much more engaging in person than on TV.
3. I went with Jeremy, who introduced me to Atrios.
4. If Greenland melts, try not to be living in New York or San Francisco. Just saying.
5. I was concerned that if I brought a camera, it would be confiscated, what with the ex-Vice President and all. As it turns out, everybody took pictures, so I’ve rendered the event in pen and paper here for your perusal.

Awesome artist’s conception, Dude!!
Dave,
Honestly, I am appauled. I mean, that is your drawing of a microphone?! WTF?! I am guessing it’s a wireless handheld, because I don’t see an XLR cable attached. Balanced or Un-Balanced!
Although the caricature of Gore is right on target. Except that he looks just slightly too much to Tony Blair… but a decent attempt, nonetheless.
Just checking up on ya…
